Introduction

Leeds Improvisors' Orchestra is a space for musicians to experiment, collaborate, and take creative risks.

We focus on cultivating awareness of the improvised music scene while nurturing the vibrant, diverse community that shapes it.

Each session captures around 40 minutes of music through improvisation and spontaneous composition.

The recordings are mixed live, mastered the same day, and paired with artwork created on-site, resulting in a vivid snapshot of an evolving music scene.

• The recording documents the state of the scene at a moment in time
• Artwork will be 'improvised' on the day and is an extension of the music
• As a constant, the artwork will be created in black and white, and colourised later
